The Universal College of Learning or UCOL is an award winning, government-funded institute of technology and polytechnic with three campuses in the lower half of the North Island of New Zealand.

A Short History

We were founded in Palmerston North in 1902 as a technical institute, and over the years we have continued to meet the growing needs of our communities and industry by providing tertiary level training.

UCOL is an acronym that stands for 'Universal College of Learning,' reflecting our belief that every person in our region deserves the opportunity to tertiary level education.

Diverse Selection of Diplomas, Degrees and other Programmes

Our programmes range from entry level certificates and foundation courses to diplomas, degrees and opportunities in post-graduate study.

Our campuses in Palmerston North, Masterton and Whanganui create an efficient network of learning facilities that covers three vibrant regions.

Some programmes are completed entirely online; we believe this gives individuals who may have other commitments the opportunity to study from almost anywhere at any time.
